Welcome to the world, Jr! (Or: Catching up with old friends)

Well, I haven’t created that new, separate blog page that I said I would yet. I’ve been on vacation ever since I’ve returned to the USA, so I haven’t devoted as much time to the blog as I should have. But, my time home so far has been fun, with me visiting friends in Topeka last week, and Muna & Taj joining me in Denver this weekend.

The best news of all is that my cousin and her family (who don’t live in Denver,) welcomed a new baby boy to their family. Overall, our extended family (outside of Muna, Taj and I) is very small, so anytime someone has a baby, it’s a big deal. I can’t wait to see the new baby, but wasn’t able to visit them during this trip. Maybe this summer.

Other than that, I caught up with an old friend this weekend. He’s a student and an up-n-coming writer, providing movie reviews for blackflix.com and articles for various online publications. It’s weird, because back when we were teenagers, neither one of us would have imagined the other to be doing what we’re doing now. That’s life, I guess.

Muna also visited old friends, one of which is a model. (No surprise there … beautiful women always travel in packs.) She was also able to catch up with some of her former co-workers from when we used to live in Denver. (Of course, she made sure to get her obligatory shopping fix in.) I hope she had a good time … I still feel like I owe her for holding down the fort the year I was in the ‘stan.

Taj got to spend some time with his Grandmother, who, as I’m typing this is probably going into debt spoiling him with toys/food/clothes he doesn’t want/need/appreciate. I guess that’s just what Grandmothers do.
