So, NOW what?

The ride is over, but is still online. What do I blog about now?
The ride is over, but is still online. What do I blog about now?

So, I’ve been home for a week now, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it … The trip to Wal-Mart & Best Buy; fighting with Taj to get him to eat his oatmeal; getting reacquainted with the Air Force at my old base, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. It’s been great so far.

With my reintegration, I don’t have any new cool war stories to share (now that I’m not in Afghanistan any more.) So that got me to thinking … What do I do with this blog?

I started this blog for two reasons:

1. I’ve always wanted to start blogging, and writing about my Afghanistan seemed like a good place to start.

2. I wanted to chronicle my time in the war (oops, I mean “overseas contingency.”) Maybe if I keep it saved, Taj can look back on it for good memories.

But now, I am trying to figure out how to keep your interest, knowing that the things I’m experiencing now are nowhere near as exotic, dangerous or as interesting as serving in Afghanistan.

So, NOW what?

Do I just kill the blog?

Or, do I find something new to write about?

If so, WHAT? (Fatherhood is something I’ve considered blogging about, but I’m not sure my experience is any different than any other fathers … at least not so much to earn your interest.)

Or, what about my family? (I could see me getting into lot of trouble, especially with Muna, who doesn’t like to have her business out in the streets.)

Please share your thoughts.
