Marine Corps memories

Denver, Colo. –
Muna and I, circa 1998, at the Marine Corps Ball in Denver, on 10 November. I just realized that this website has been bad about providing Marine Corps memories. I’ll fix that, starting today.

Hanging out with the French Marines earlier this week made me reminisce about my own days of being a Devil Dog.

Don’t get me wrong … I like being an Airman. But there’s always a special spot in my heart for the Marine Corps.

It’s funny … now-a-days, I can’t remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but I can remember EVERY WORD of the Marine’s Hymn, and I can still recite weapons characteristics as if I was being tested with a Drill Instructor half-an-inch in front of my face.

“Sir! The characteristics of the M16A2 service rifle: Lightweight! Magazine-Fed! Gas-Operated! Air-Cooled, capable of firing three-round bursts, SIR!”

Unable to relive my experience with you, I figured the least I could do is share some pics from my old Jarhead days. I added a new page to the website today. Check it out here.
