Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan —
MRAPs aren’t the prettiest things to look at, but they do their job. They save lives. Our team knows this from first-hand experience.

You may have figured it out last month, but our team was struck by an IED a while ago while in a convoy outside the wire. We’re all still alive, but our team did suffer some injuries. (I was not in the convoy at the time.)

While I wasn’t hiding this fact from you, policy prevented me from speaking about the event immediately after it occurred. (Out of respect for the injured and their families, we sometimes limit communication until an appropriate time.)

I wrote a story about the incident. (Click here.) Other stories I’ve written (or, stories that mention my work,) can be found on the “In The News” page.
