Happy Mother’s Day, Muna!

I love my wife, but I gave up on trying to surprise her with pricey gifts. Gift cards are my standard operating procedure on Mother’s Day!

Short post for Mother’s Day … Muna was actually working today, so Taj and I just hung out by ourselves until she finished work. Then we ordered in some food and tried to just help her relax.

It’s hard shopping for Muna. I know better than to buy her clothes without her being present. (Never a good idea.) Same goes for jewelry or just about anything else that is required to “look good.” So, when it comes to gift-giving for Muna, I’m pretty much restricted to two types of gifts: thoughtful gifts that don’t cost anything but have significant meaning, or the good old stand by … gift certificates.

Muna received several gift certificates from her favorite stores today. Now, some of you might say that I was insensitive, and not being thoughtful enough. But you know what? She smiled when she saw them.

Mission accomplished as far as I’m concerned.
