Catchin’ up with old friends

Today, I again find myself thinking about my friends, both old and new. In a previous post, I mentioned how it’s nice to make new ones, but I regret not keeping in touch with the old ones like I should have.

While surfing Facebook yesterday, I came across some old friends. It was fun to reconnect with them. And, in typical Facebook fashion, one friend leads to another friend, leads to another friend etc.

So, for a while tonight, I found myself just playing “connect the dots” with old friends, seeing what they are up to and telling them what’s going on with me as well.

I can tell by looking at some of the pictures that they post, that a lot of the people I used to know still stayed in touch with each other. I kind of feel like I am the odd one out … I guess in a way, I am. I’ve been in the military for several years now, so I guess I’m not surprised.

Another promise to myself, courtesy of the ‘stan: I will reconnect with my old friends when I leave the ‘stan. And I will stay in touch moving forward.
