Southern Tag Ab district, Afghanistan —
Sheep blocked our path as we inspected Southern Tag Ab road. Today was the second day in a two-day trip to Kabul and Southern Tag Ab.

I hope I didn’t gross you out too much with my story yesterday. (Hey, I’m tryin’ to give you a FULL GLIMPSE of my experiences while in the ‘stan.)

Today was day two of our two-day mission outside the wire. Yesterday, we went to Kabul, and today, we went back into Southern Tag Ab to inspect a road project. (I posted a few pics on the Afghanistan Pics page.)

While there, flocks of sheep were blocking our path on the road. Not wanting to kill any livestock, (which probably serve as the livelyhood for the herders,) we halted our vehicles. It was fun for me to stand in the middle as they trotted around me, although, secretly, I was thinking to myself: “I hope this isn’t some new ploy the insurgents are using to get us to stop long enough for them to take aim!” Once again my paranoia was on overdrive … everything was fine.

After the inspection, we loaded up and returned to Bagram Air Field, where I took pleasure in washing two days worth of dirt and grit out of my hair, nose and everywhere else!
