Another boring post about how I miss my family

LegoLand, Germany 2007 –
This pic is a a couple of years old, taken in Germany at LegoLand. I have a portable hard drive that I store my family pictures on, and I review them when I get homesick.

This pic is of me us in Germany at LegoLand. It has no real significance now, or any relevance to my current deployment in the ‘stan. But I like looking at it when I’m feeling homesick.

Sometimes, my days in the ‘stan are relatively uneventful. On days that I don’t go outside the wire, and when things are slow in the office, my thoughts tend to drift back to my family. I miss Muna and Taj more every day. (But, of course, you already know this.)

Today was one of those slow days that allowed my mind to focus more on them. I did spend some time typing up an email full of info for the Officer who will replace me, but for the most part, I just daydreamed about being home again. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I know some of you visit this site to learn more about my Afghanistan experience. I hope that my many posts (found in the archive section,) helps fill the void on days like this when I have nothing exciting to report.
