A Windows-less house

So, as part of our post-hack recovery plan, we’ve made the jump to an all-Apple household. Muna’s taking her time adjusting.

(For my Facebook readers, Facebook is horrible at displaying pics with it’s matching blog post. Please click the “view original post” link below to see pics properly.)

I told you how we were hacked a while back. Some Nigerian scammers cyber-raped one of our Google accounts and sent emails to all of my contacts, pretending to be me. (If you received one, make sure you check your computer for viruses!)

I’m not quite sure how they did it, but I am assuming it’s best to eliminate all vulnerabilities going forward.

Part of that plan includes reducing the chances of getting viruses, so, we replaced Muna’s Windows laptop with a Macbook. I’ve already been using one for a while (in fact, this website is made using a Macbook,) but it’s taking a while for Muna to get used to it.

But trying to avoid viruses still doesn’t make me feel at ease about what other info the hacker might have gotten access to. Only time will tell. So, I’m constantly monitoring my credit, bank accounts, and other online accounts to see if anything else has been affected. If you’ve ever been hacked or had your identity stolen, I’d be interested in hearing your story. Please share with me by clicking on the “email me” link, below.
